Over the holidays the team at EAF partnered up with Homeless Solutions to provide a total of 30 computers to 2 local shelters in Morristown, NJ.
Here’s a pic of Jackie with a family who just set-up their donated computer in their room. The parent, is a single mother, who’s pursuing her online Bachelor’s degree. Prior to the Electronic Access Foundation donation, the parent had to travel to the library on a daily basis with her two daughters to log into her online school account. Now she has the ability to do so in the comforts of her room while staying in the shelter
The staff told us that at one of the locations 10 families were sharing 1 laptop over the holidays. Now this week each family and their children will have access to a computer while they stay at the shelter. These families use these computers to stay connected online to apply for jobs, check e-mail, learn new skills online, and let their children play educational games and learn online as well.
Let’s keep these stories coming in as we change the lives of everyone around us one computer at a time! If you or anyone you know has a donation of multiple computers available, please contact us today. If you work in a small office or corporate office, ask what they do when they upgrade the computers. Tell them about The Electronic Access Foundation and explain that they will get a Tax Break based on the value of the donation. Help us to change the world for the less fortunate that need our help today!
